Dr. Jeffrey Cohen was born in Albany, New York but eventually made his way to the great state of Texas to practice Podiatric medicine and surgery.
After finishing his undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Dr. Cohen accepted a Presidential scholarship to the California College of Podiatric Medicine where he concluded his podiatric medical degree in 1995.
Dr. Cohen was then off to the prestigious Western Pennsylvania Hospital Podiatric Surgical Residency program in Pittsburgh, PA. There he trained for three years with world renowned Foot and Ankle surgeons as well as vascular and plastic surgeons to develop the clinical and surgical skills he shares with his patients every day. Dr. Cohen is board certified by the American Board of Podiatry Surgery
Dr. Cohen's philosophy for Precision Podiatry is to emphasize non operative and conservative care. It is Dr. Cohen's goal to keep individuals functioning, working, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Dr. Cohen reserves surgical management for patients who do not respond to non-operative care or have no other reasonable options.
Dr. Cohen remains active in resident education lecturing to various medical specialties. He remains focused on the latest technologies and techniques to treat the varied foot problems he sees on a daily basis.
Dr. Cohen shares his home with his wife Brenda, and four children, Eden, Regan, Haylen, and Taryn.
Dr. Brenda Cohen was born in Dallas, Texas. After a stellar college preparatory education she was offered and accepted an academic scholarship to attend Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following completion of her undergraduate degree Dr. Cohen attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine earning her Doctorate in 1995. Dr. Cohen then spent the next two years in Florida completing her two year surgical residency. Following completion of her residency Dr. Cohen was offered the prestigious diabetic limb salvage fellowship at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Cohen trained with top diabetic specialists from all over the country.
Dr. Brenda Cohen shares a philosophy with Precision Podiatry of providing comprehensive medical and surgical management of the foot and ankle. Dr. Cohen emphasizes conservative treatment whenever possible keeping patients active during their treatment.
Dr. Brenda Cohen is an active competitive runner having completed thirteen marathons. She shares a unique fellowship with her sport medicine patients, understanding that just telling someone not to run is not an option.
When not competing in marathons, Dr. Brenda is chasing after her four children, Eden, Regan, Haylen, and Taryn.
Dr. Jon Smedley joined Precision Podiatry in July of 2004. Dr. Smedley is a native of Austin having spent much of his time in the Cedar Park area.
Dr. Smedley graduated from St. Michael's Academy with honors and moved north to attend Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. He finished college after three years, continuing his studies at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he served as student director of clinical affairs. He was an integral part in the day to day operations of the student clinics and organized many lectures and symposiums with speakers from all across the country.
After graduating in 2002, Dr. Smedley completed a 2-year podiatric surgery residency in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, OH. Dr. Smedley served as chief resident his second year.
Dr. Smedley is both Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is trained in multiple minimally invasive as well as complex reconstructive procedures. He currently is involved in the trauma program at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center.
Dr. Smedley and his wife, Jolie, live in Leander. They have two wonderful boys, Thomas and Max, that keep them very busy. Playing golf, spending time outdoors, and spending time with family are activities Dr. Smedley enjoys in his free time.
Professionally, he is an active participant in Central American Medical Outreach, a multi-specialty team of physicians and surgeons that provides medical care to people in Honduras. His professional interests include reconstruction of flatfeet, bunion surgery, as well as ankle arthroscopy.
